a giving heart
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Luke 6:38
I hope everyone had an amazing Labor Day weekend full of love, friends, family and laughter!
My husband and I road tripped to Colorado to stay with some friends. We were so thankful for their loving hospitality. I enjoy CO because of the quietness, calmness, fresh air and absolutely beautiful scenery! It was exactly what we were needing. I find it so easy to get caught up in the hustle of our daily lives. We forget what's REALLY important. We were hiking up the mountain to Treasure Falls (picture I took above) and out of nowhere I realized I was rushing. I was rushing to get there and rushing to get back down. I do this a lot. With everything. We can't just rush through life because we will miss out on the most beautiful and precious moments that we may hold forever in our hearts. What I asked myself when I suddenly realized my rushy self was ... WHY? Our surroundings were beautiful. I decided to slow down. I heard the Holy Spirit say "listen and be still." It was a beautiful experience and if your going 90 miles per hour through life. Well....STOP! Enjoy! Maybe start with a vacation to Pagosa Springs, Co.
So... I have something very beautiful to share that I was a witness for! Let me first tell you about my morning today. I woke up at 5 am with a silly migraine. I took something to calm it down and went back to bed. I woke up 2 hours later to head to work. I was feeling groggy, tired, stressed, and not to thrilled about the day ahead of me. UNTIL this happened, I was checking in a gal to receive her flu shot. She was filling out her paperwork and unknowingly was listening to me help a regular patient drop off a prescription. I told him twenty minutes and he went on his way. The gal came back up to the counter and said "I want to pay for that mans prescription" ... Little did she know it was $230.00. What is more amazing when she found out the price she didn't flinch. She simply said "yes, I want to pay it." GLORIOUS!!! Done. She payed for it. This man comes in every month. Pays every month and is always very kind but quiet. This man is a veteran and is missing a limb. The look on his face when I told him someone had taken care of his prescription filled my heart with JOY!! He cried. He was overcome with so many emotions and so grateful. The lady wanted to remain anonymous but was still in the area when he found out the wonderful gift he had just received. She heard his reaction and came over and told him she was the one. They hugged and cried and hugged some more! I couldn't believe God let me witness this amazing blessing. I was so uplifted after this event. How could I be groggy after that! I started to think about how yesterday I got an email update from Adventures reminding us that our first installment payment (half of our trip) is due Oct. 1st. I was feeling anxiety and doubt about the trip after I received this. God really woke me up and spoke to me today. He reminded me of His love and faithfulness. Don't give up. Continue to pray and He will not fail us. Always believe. This lady and man blessed me today. They filled my heart more with God's faithfulness. They reminded me of Christ's children all around us and loving your neighbor. It's amazing how The Holy Spirit leads people to do things and they may not know how many lives they have touched by one simple act. God knows and will never forget.
Haiti is getting closer and we continue to remain faithful in believing and having faith. We want to thank everyone for their continued prayers and partnering with us to bring hope to Haiti. We ask that you continue to pray and help us lead Gods mission to Haiti.
Blessings!
Ashley
